Home invasion is a frightening and potentially dangerous crime. This occurs when robbers force their way into an occupied residence such as a home, apartment or hotel room in order to commit robbery or some other crime. The Home Invasion Criminal

- A wealthy senior citizen resides
- A known drug dealer lives

The invader may also have already been in the victim's home posing as a delivery person, repair person or some other type of vendor.

The perpetrators usually have some device with which to restrict movement of the victim(s) which may include:

- Rope
- Duct tape
Or they may rely on the threat of violence with a gun or other weapon to intimidate the victim or victims.
Some home invaders appear to enjoy (and even get a "rush") from the intimidation, domination and violence they inflict on their victims.
